Course DescriptionThis course has been designed for students wishing to learn hairdressing skills or enter a career in hairdressing and related personal services industries. There is demand for hairdressers, and in this program, students undertake training that gives them the skills to apply for a full-time or school-based apprenticeship. Students work in a salon environment. This is a TGSS (Training Guarantee for Secondary Students) course. The fee is paid fully or partially by the government to the RTO (Registered Training Organisation) although in some cases there may be an additional gap fee that needs to be paid as this course may not be fully funded. Families may or will be required to pay for the TGSS fee if one is required for the course you will attend. Please check the level of subsidy with your school as to how much the school will support.
PathwaysThis course is a prerequisite for Certificate III in Hairdressing (partial) tradePLUS at RTCC.

The Training Centre is located adjacent to Mt Carmel College on the corner of Russell Street and Symon Street. Student car parking is available.
Dates and Times33 weekly sessions at Rosewater Trade Training Centre on Tuesdays from 08:40 until 15:00.
Commencement date 04/02/20.
This course will run on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays. Students must select suitable day to meet their timetable commitments and indicate on the Regional VET Student Application Form.
Work Placement10 days
A SWL logbook must be completed as part of the TGSS agreement. 70 hours of SWL is compulsory as part of TGSS.

Department for Education (public) schools in Western Adelaide region (WASSN) will subsidise the training cost for students if it is part of the students’ genuine career pathway and SACE.
