Course DescriptionThis course delivers broad-based underpinning skills and knowledge in a range of engineering and manufacturing tasks, which provides students with an understanding of the industry and the training opportunities that exist in a variety of manufacturing trades. Emphasis is placed on practical activities that involve a range of machinery and tools that will be encountered in the work place.
PathwaysThis course is designed to engage students at the initial stage of their training and is designated as tradeSKILLS level. Students who continue training at RTTC will progress through the graduated training program into tradePATH (Stage 1 SACE) followed by tradePLUS (Stage 2 SACE).

The Training Centre is located adjacent to Mt Carmel College on the corner of Russell Street and Symon Street. Student car parking is available.
Dates and Times8 fortnightly sessions at Rosewater Trade Training Centre on Fridays from 08:40 until 15:00.
Commencement date 24/07/20.
This course runs in Semester 2. There will be two classes/groups of students, Group A and Group B. Group A students will attend on Fridays - odd weeks. Group B students will attend on Fridays - even weeks.

This fee consists of RTO costs (invoiced to the Home School by the Host School). Department for Education (public) schools in Western Adelaide region (WASSN) will subsidise the training cost for students if it is part of the students’ genuine career pathway and SACE. Please check the level of subsidy with your Home School. Private school students and families please see your school’s VET Leader to find out about the VET Payment Policy in your school.

Personal Equipment and Materials$115.50 GST included
This consists of $77 for a high vis embroidered work shirt and jumper, $27.50 for a combination lock and $11 for safety glasses. If not purchased personally by the student or family, the Host School (where you are doing the VET course) will invoice families for these items.
Cost NotesThere is a compulsory Regional VET fee of $100.00 (GST free) for all courses. This fee will be invoiced to the family by the Home School. Schools outside of the member and non-member school portfolio (please check WASSN policy at will have to pay an additional fee of $100.00 per student + GST based on administration fees. The student's Home School will collect this fee from the family directly.
