Course DescriptionThe Doorways 2 Construction Plus (D2C+) program is designed by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) as a response to the demand for young skilled workers in industry. Students that have completed the Doorways 2 Construction (Certificate I in Construction) are eligible to continue their construction pathway through the Doorways 2 Construction Plus program at Woodville High School. The course will incorporate accredited units of competency from the Certificate III in Carpentry, providing students with a range of skills including scaffolding, cladding, hanging doors and installing windows, concreting, fixing gyprock and more.
PathwaysThis is an apprenticeship pathway and although it gains Stage 2 SACE credits, it does not contribute to a student's ATAR score.
Entry RequirementsStudents must have completed a Certificate II in Construction Pathways, including SWP. Students must also attend an information session at Woodville High School.
Other RequirementsSteel capped boots, beige work trousers or shorts, a high visibility work shirt.

This cost consists of RTO fees (GST free) and is subject to change according to CITB subsidies for 2021 courses.

Department for Education (public) schools in Western Adelaide region (WASSN) will subsidise the training cost for students if it is part of the students’ genuine career pathway and SACE. Please check the level of subsidy with your Home School. Private school students and families please see your school’s VET Leader to find out about the VET Payment Policy in your school.

This cost consists of $360 WASSN Gap fee (GST free) and subject to change according to CITB subsidies for 2021 courses and a compulsory Regional VET fee of $100 for all courses, to be invoiced to the family by the Home School.

Selection ProcessInterview and evidence of completion of Certificate I in Construction or Certificate II in Construction Futures. This must include 15 days of SWL for the students to be eligible for the CITB subsidy.
Orientation DetailsStudents will be required to attend an orientation session in December 2020, details will be supplied in the acceptance letter.
