Course DescriptionThis course trains workers who provide assistance to allied health professionals. Workers at this level operate under direct supervision and do not conduct programs or therapeutic interventions. You can gain employment as an Allied Health Assistant, Occupational Therapy Aide, Physiotherapy Assistant, Speech Pathology Aide, Podiatry Assistant, Nutrition Assistant or Diversional Therapy Assistant. Allied Health Assistants work with Social Workers, Physiotherapists, Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Rehabilitation Therapists, Medical Imaging staff and Nurses.
PathwaysFurther Educational Pathways: Year 2 of the Certificate III Allied Health Assistance - Year 2. When students achieve the certificate they can either apply for University or further tertiary education. Home School Cost$755.00
This cost consists of $300 trained teacher delivery, $250 RTO costs, $120 for medical consumables and $85 personal equipment, invoiced to the Home School by the Host School.

Department for Education (public) schools in Western Adelaide region (WASSN) will subsidise the training cost for students if it is part of the students’ genuine career pathway and SACE. Please check the level of subsidy with your Home School. Private school students and families please see your school’s VET Leader to find out about the VET Payment Policy in your school.

This cost consists of $35 for a polo shirt, $18 for an identification badge and $32 for national crime check and a compulsory Regional VET fee of $100 for all courses, to be invoiced to the family by the Home School.
