Course DescriptionThis qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of early childhood education settings who work within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. They support the implementation of an approved learning framework, and support children’s wellbeing, learning and development. Depending on the setting, educators may work under direct supervision or autonomously. This course provides students with the theoretical and practical knowledge to work in the childcare industry. Students are provided with an opportunity to explore the community services industry (specifically early childhood education and childcare), concentrating on the emotional, cognitive and physical developmental stages of children, including nutrition. Structured workplace learning allows students to hone their skills and knowledge gained within the classroom environment.

Entry RequirementsSuccessful completion of Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (Year 1) including First Aid Certificate and DCSI obtained in partial certificate.

This cost consists of $300 trained teacher delivery, $400 RTO costs and $100 for a workplace folder and Birth to Big School ebook, invoiced to the Home School by the Host School.

Department for Education (public) schools in Western Adelaide region (WASSN) will subsidise the training cost for students if it is part of the students’ genuine career pathway and SACE.
