Description | The Doorways 2 Construction Plus (D2C+) program is designed by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) as a response to the demand for young skilled workers in industry. Students that have completed the Doorways 2 Construction (Certificate I in Construction) are eligible to continue their construction pathway through the Doorways 2 Construction Plus program at Woodville High School.
Students enrolled in this course will be asked to complete a Training Guarantee for SACE Students (TGSS) with support from their Home School VET Coordinator.
The course will incorporate accredited units of competency from the Certificate III in Carpentry, providing students with a range of skills including scaffolding, cladding, hanging doors and installing windows, concreting, fixing gyprock and more.
The benefits of enrolling in D2C+ are:
• Opportunity to earn 40 stage 2 SACE credits
• Gain new skills and experience in Carpentry/Construction
• Work with builders on work experience placements and increase employability
• May reduce the time required to complete an apprenticeship (if successful in gaining an apprenticeship) |
Pathways | This is an apprenticeship pathway and although it gains Stage 2 SACE credits, it does not contribute to a student's ATAR score. |
