In order to complete the whole certificate, students must enrol for the two year period. Students completing less than two years will be accredited with some VET Competencies towards the full certificate and gain the appropriate SACE Credits for the Competencies passed.
DescriptionThis course is delivered over a two year period and generally is taken up by Year 11 students, with completion by the end of Year 12. In exceptional circumstances Year 10 students may be considered for entrance to the course. Year 12 students may be considered as entrants to the course, but must be aware that they will need to complete “Year 13” (See “Length Notes”). The course will develop skills and knowledge including working in the Automotive Industry, vehicle electrical and mechanical systems, light and heavy vehicle applications and bodywork.
PathwaysThe course provides opportunities to develop skills in a range of Automotive Vocational pathways.
PrerequisitesSuccessful completion of Certificate I in Automotive Vocational Preparation or equivalent.
Special RequirementsAutomotive Program polo shirt (to be worn during session times) and access to IT for online learning. Students will need to bring a 3 ring folder note pad and subject dividers to each session.

SACE DetailsSACE Stage 1, 20 SACE credits
A minimum (assuming passing competencies) of 20 Stage 1 Credits and 20 Stage 2 Credits. More possible depending on competencies completed. This course will not contribute to an ATAR.
