DescriptionThis course provides students with an orientation to the childcare industry and the theoretical and practical knowledge to work with colleagues, clientele and children. Students are provided with an opportunity to explore the community services industry (specifically childcare), concentrating on the emotional, cognitive and physical developmental stages of children, including nutrition. Structured workplace learning allows students to hone their skills and knowledge gained within the classroom environment. Childcare workers are employed in private, government and community-based child care centres, kindergartens and crèches. Rapid growth in the number of childcare and family care centres in recent years has increased the demand for fully qualified childcare workers.
PathwaysSuccessful completion can gain recognition of studies towards a Certificate III in Children's Services. Career options may include: Childcare Assistant, Family Day Carer, Nanny, Out of School Hours Care Assistant, Recreation Assistant, Childcare Worker. Self-employment prospects exist by becoming a registered Family Day Care provider in your own home.

This consists of $300 (GST free) course cost, $150 (GST free) for First Aid $25 (GST free) RTO fee and $50 (including GST) for materials. This will be invoiced to the Home School from Henley High School.
