This is the last semester of an 18 month course.
DescriptionThis Certificate II in Metal Roofing and Cladding program integrates Doorways 2 Construction skills, to introduce students to the specialised construction fields of work of roof plumbing/plumbing. This course is endorsed and supported by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) who provides support for eligible students. This is the last semester of an 18 month course.
PathwaysStudents will gain skills appropriate to their chosen field of work in the construction industry: Roof Plumbing and also the opportunity to gain credit towards certificate courses from the Metal Engineering and Manufacturing training packages.
PrerequisitesBuilding and Construction (Plumbing Stream) Year 1 or similar plumbing/construction VET course.
Special RequirementsHigh visibility shirt and jumper and combination lock (for locker) will be ordered on behalf of the student (at cost) and provided at the start of the course. An itemised cost breakdown will be included in the cost to students. Black steel-capped boots and khaki work trousers to be purchased by students prior to commencement.

A SWL logbook must be completed as part of the TGSS agreement. 140 hours of SWL is compulsory as part of TGSS.
SACE DetailsSACE Stage 1, 20 SACE credits
This is 10 SACE Stage 1 credits and 10 SACE Stage 2 credits. For the 18 month course, it is 35 SACE Stage 1 credits in Year 1 and 10 SACE Stage 1 credits and 10 SACE Stage 2 credits in Year 2. A total of 45 SACE Stage 1 and 10 SACE Stage 2 credits over the 18 month course.

A number of units of competency are conducted concurrently and students will be required to complete some assessment tasks outside of programmed training sessions.
Student Cost$100.00
This consists of a $100 (GST free) Regional VET fee. If students don’t have Personal Protective Equipment and tools from year 1 of the course, they will also need to purchase this for $380 (including GST), payable to your Home School. These items will remain the property of the student, including take-home projects made during the course.
Home School Cost$3,400.00
For students ineligible for TGSS, the RTO Fee For Service cost of this course will be $3400 ($1700 per semester) (GST free), invoiced to the Home School by the RTO. For students who are following this career pathway, there may be an opportunity for students to complete this course under the Training Guarantee for SACE Students (TGSS), providing students meet the eligibility criteria. A TGSS Form A will need to be completed for all TGSS students and submitted to the RTO. A Form B must be received from the RTO prior to commencement of the course.
