DescriptionRegarding this RTO it is the school's intent to deliver. A prevocational program, covering the skills and knowledge to work within the hospitality industry. The program covers a range of food and beverage functions and client service activities, including health and safety, hygiene, food and beverage service and kitchen hand functions. Students will acquire skills and knowledge in interpersonal communication and customer service, cultural awareness required for serving customers and working with colleagues from diverse backgrounds, including communicating efficiently on the telephone. Practical skills and knowledge focus on preparing table settings and service areas, using table reservation systems, greeting, seating and farewelling guests, describing menu items and taking orders, food service skills, clearing, resetting tables, preparing and serving non-alcoholic beverages. Students must have black business pants and a white shirt for catering functions.
PathwaysCareer options may include: Waiter, Retail Liquor Attendant, Bar Attendant, Café Attendant, Restaurant Attendant, Bar Operator, Barista/Coffee Machine Operator, Waiter, Catering Assistant, Kitchen Attendant, Food and Beverage Supervisor.

Placement must be in a café/restaurant where there is table service to meet competency requirements. Part time employment can be counted for 20 hours SWL for the Core units (a pay slip must be produced to verify employment).

This consists of $100 (GST free) Regional VET fee payable to your Home School. Henley High School students will need to refer to the HHS Curriculum Handbook for costs.
Home School Cost$575.00
This consists of $300 (GST free) course cost, $250 (including GST) for consumables and $25 (GST free) RTO fees. This will be invoiced to the Home School from Henley High School.
