DescriptionThis course encompasses a variety of practical skills and theoretical units related to working in the business sector. Students will learn: • to work as a member of a team • how to provide a high standard of customer service • to accept the responsibilities of their position in the workplace • to identify work priorities and make decisions • organisational skills • to recognise opportunities in the workplace for development and improvement • an understanding of the relevant legislations relating to the business sector • their responsibilities regarding work, health and safety procedures • to produce business documents.
PathwaysThis course leads onto tertiary education or employment in this industry such as: customer service officer, business management, business administration, receptionist or clerical officer.
PrerequisitesSatisfactory literacy and numeracy skills.
Special RequirementsStudents are required to wear a white shirt with black skirt or black business pants/trousers.

Training Cost Fee$400.00 GST free
This fee is for RTO costs (invoiced to the Home School by the Host School).
Department for Education (public) schools in Western Adelaide region (WASSN) will subsidise the training cost for students if it is part of the students’ genuine career pathway and SACE. Please check the level of subsidy with your Home School. Private school students and families please see your school’s VET Leader to find out about the VET Payment Policy in your school.

Cost NotesThere is an administration fee of $100.00 (GST free) for all courses. This fee will be invoiced to the family by the Home School. Schools outside of the member and non-member school portfolio will have to pay an additional fee of $100.00 per student + GST based on administration fees. The student's Home School will collect this fee from the family directly.
