DescriptionThis course is an introduction to the automotive industry and is operated in the $1.5 million Trade Training Centre at Underdale High School. This program is a mixture of theoretical and practical components, with an emphasis on practical skill development.
PathwaysThis course can lead to the Certificate II in Automotive Servicing Technology program at Underdale High School, further study at TAFE SA, and Traineeships and Apprenticeships in the Automotive industry.
PrerequisitesInterest and motivation to explore career options in the Automotive industry.
Special RequirementsAutomotive Program polo shirt (to be worn during session times) and access to IT for online learning.

It is recommended that students complete the five days of Structured Workplace Learning. Students can also gain the following Unit of Competency from the Certificate II in Automotive Servicing following a successful SWL placement: AURAFA003 Communicate effectively in an automotive workplace (20 hours)
SACE DetailsSACE Stage 1, 20 SACE credits
If students complete more than the minimum Units of Competency required for this certificate, extra Units will be used for recognition in another Automotive VET certificate.

Students may not complete all Units of Competency listed as only three Elective units are required to complete the qualification. The maximum SACE Credits recognised for this certificate is 20 Credits at Stage 1.

$100 (GST free) Regional VET fee - payable to Home School plus $60 for an automotive polo shirt, to be purchased on-site, via Devon Clothing.
Home School Cost$600.00
This consists of a $300 (GST free) course cost and $300 (GST included) for consumables and resources. This will be invoiced to the Home School from Underdale High School.
