DescriptionThe Australian Nursing & Midwifery Education Centre (ANMEC) has partnered with the leading providers in the aged care industry to deliver a contemporary Certificate III in Individual Support that embeds the philosophy of empowering older people. The training uses evidence based practice to support the principles of a client-centered approach and engage learners to deliver care that places the client at the centre of service with inclusive decision-making and informed client choices about activities of daily living.
PathwaysPathways include further training at ANMEC, TAFE SA and University, and can include Nursing, Allied Health Services, Disability Services, Aged Care and others. Students can also seek employment on completion of this qualification as Personal Care Workers and Orderlies or may choose to continue study in Nursing at a Diploma or Degree level.
PrerequisitesC grade or better in English and successful completion of a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment. Only available as a TGSS enrolment. Students need to be a minimum of 16 years of age to satisfy work placement requirements and meet other TGSS eligibility criteria.
Special RequirementsStudents will need to purchase at least one uniform shirt (students may prefer two for work placement) and will be provided with an identification badge. Students must have navy or black pants suitable for work placement. Closed-in shoes are also essential at all times. Students will also require a minimum of two large folders and a box of plastic sleeves. Students will need a DCSI history screening PRIOR to the course commencing. Students need to arrange this through their Home School.

Student Cost$203.30
This consists of $100 (GST free) Regional VET fee, $45 (GST included) for a polo shirt and $58.30 (GST included) for a DCSI Relevant History Screening, payable to your Home School. The polo shirt cost will be invoiced to the Home School by the RTO. The Home School is to arrange the DCSI history screening.

As this is a Training Guarantee for SACE Students (TGSS) course, there is a subsidised cost of $335 (GST free) for TGSS students. For students’ ineligible for TGSS, the RTO Fee For Service cost of this course will be $3335 (GST free), invoiced to the Home School by the RTO. To qualify for the TGSS, students must meet the eligibility criteria. A TGSS Form A will need to be completed for all TGSS students and submitted to the RTO. A Form B must be received from the RTO prior to commencement of the course.
