DescriptionThis course delivers broad-based underpinning skills and knowledge in a range of engineering and manufacturing tasks, which provides students with an understanding of the industry and the training opportunities that exist in a variety of manufacturing trades. Emphasis is placed on practical activities that involve a range of machinery and tools that will be encountered in the work place. This course is designed to engage students at the initial stage of their training and is designated as tradeSKILLS level. Students who continue training at RTTC will progress through the graduated training program into tradePATH (Stage 1 SACE) followed by tradePLUS (Stage 2 SACE). The introductory nature of this course makes it suitable for Year 10 and Year 11 students wishing to experience aspects of the manufacturing and engineering industries.
PathwaysStudents will be encouraged to actively pursue continued training the following year in Engineering - tradePATH. These courses may provide eligibility for WorkReady funding(subject to age restrictions and changes to WorkReady – Subsidised Training List).

This course runs in semester 2 with seven sessions held on a Friday fortnightly.
